Project 3: Collect Data
- Due Mar 30, 2020 by 12:59am
- Points 10
- Submitting a file upload
Review the feedback you got on Project 3: Planning and make any needed corrections/adjustments. Then go collect your data (prices of things). You will need specific information (brand, size, etc) about each item you collect data on, so make sure to write this down when you write down the prices. See this video for more information on how to do this assignment.
Remember, you need prices for 30 items and you need to make sure there is some variation between the prices of the items. If there isn't enough variation in the prices of the items then this project won't work.
Example of how to collect the data:
Item Information | Walmart | Kroger |
12.5oz of Campbell's cream of mushroom soup | 1.35 | 1.55 |
16oz of Heinz Ketchup | 4.60 | 5.25 |
12 pack cans of Pepsi | 2.99 | 1.99 |
What to submit to this assignment
Minitab file with a list of your Items (and information) and the prices from each store (similar to the example above). If you have problems with the file not uploading, make sure the Minitab file is saved and then CLOSED. Next, try uploading it again to the assignment.
Things to watch out for:
- Do not put the $ sign in for the prices.
- Check the C2 & C3 (prices) columns with your data. The numbers should be justified to the right. If the numbers are justified to the left, then Minitab is recognizing this data as text, not as numbers. To fix this right-click on each column (C2 & C3) and select "Format Column." Then select "automatic numeric" from the list and click ok.
